Wyndham Bonnet Creek Review

Welcome to this month’s Blogorail Orange Loop. Today we are sharing our reviews Disney Springs hotels & other off property options at Walt Disney World.

Bonnet Creek title

My family and I have been using timeshares for our vacations for many years. Out of all those places that we have stayed at, my favorite by far has been Wyndham Bonnet Creek at Lake Buena Vista, Florida. The number one reason why this resort is the best is location, location, location! Not only is Bonnet Creek is located within the Disney “bubble” but that fact that it has 2 lazy rivers and 5 outdoor pools is just a bonus!

Location: Wyndham Bonnet Creek Resort is located at 9560 Via Encinas in Lake Buena Vista, Florida. Even though we stay here as timeshare owners, the suites can be booked by anyone through the Wyndham website or any travel site. The property is in between Disney’s Caribbean Resort and EPCOT drive so you have views of EPCOT and Hollywood Studios from some of the buildings. The last unit we stayed in we could watch EPCOT’s Illuminations from the balcony! Also close by is Universal Orlando and Sea World which are only about a 15-20 min drive. Bonnet Creek has there own transportation to the 4 Disney parks for a fee per person. So you can use there transportation if you don’t have a car. I usually drive when I stay here to have the freedom to come and go as I please so I have never used this resort transportation.

Accommodations: Wyndham Bonnet Creek has 1,2,3 and 4 bedroom options. All accommodations are suites. So they have private living areas, full kitchens stocked with cookware, utensils, pots and pans, private balconies and washers and dryers! The suites are extremely spacious and comfortable. Since my dad is wheelchair bound, having spacious accommodations is important to my family. Bonnet Creek has some of the best handicap accessible rooms that we have stayed in.

Amenities: As nice as the rooms are, they have some amazing amenities to go along with them. The property has 5 outdoor swimming pools, 2 lazy rivers,a child water feature, 8 hot tubs, barbecue and picnic areas and onsite spa services. On our family trip in 2013, my son, niece and I made it our mission to swim in all 5 pools and both lazy rivers by the time we left and I can happily report that we enjoyed completing our mission! If your not in the mood to swim, there is plenty of other onsite activities such as mini golf, a playground and an outdoor screen for movie nights to keep you entertained. Don’t feel like cooking? There is a coffee shop, bars, restaurants and a pizza delivery service for quick meals on property meals.

Price: The prices for the suites are extremely reasonable compared to the Disney resorts. The price of a one-bedroom can be compared to the price of staying at a hotel room in one of the Disney Deluxe resorts. If you use travel sites such as Expedia, you can even find deals with prices as low as a room at a Disney Moderate resort! Not only are the room prices reasonable but also having a full kitchen can save a lot of money just by fixing breakfast at the resort. If you need to stock your unit with groceries for your family, you can use a grocery delivery service or drive out to the Winn Dixie on S Apopka Vineland Road (535) or the Publix that is on West Irlo Bronson Highway (192).

Conclusion: I have stayed both on and off property at Disney so I know that there are pros and cons to both. Every family and vacation is different so you have to decide what is best for vacation that you want. I think Wyndham Bonnet Creek is a great place for large families and long stays. You get the amenities of a Disney Vacation Club resort for the price of a moderate Disney Hotel and that alone can save you money so you can splurge on something else for your vacation! Another reason why I love this resort is that with all my Orlando trips, if I’m not in the parks, I’m in the pool and Bonnet Creek has some really great pools! Our overall service experience has been good here. When there has been a problem, we have always had a manager help us immediately. So my family and I have some good times and great memories from our stays at Bonnet Creek and we can’t wait to go back there again sometime!

The photos in this post were from a 3-bedroom handicap unit that my family and I stayed in 2013. It was room #936 in Building 4. For more information on Wyndham Bonnet Creek Resort you can visit their site here.

  1. Stayed this past July foe 3 nights in a 2 bedrooms. While the unit was nice it wasn’t anything to write home about. The pools were OK but not great. The lazy river was not too clean. And the number 1 reason I will never ever stay again- inadequate parking. Both nights returned from our day at the parks and had to drive around for over 30 min waiting game for someone else to pull out so we could grab a parking spot. Hated it so I have to disagree with u on this one.

  2. We are going to stay here in 3 weeks. Any suggestions on which tower to stay at or what activities were a not to miss? Thanks in advance!

    1. That’s great! I hope you have an awesome time! I would recommend Towers 1,4,or 5 for the chance for firework views and also closest to the best pools and the lobby. My last visit was at tower 4 and we had a great view of EPCOT’s fireworks. We never got a chance to do any of the activities on property because we spent so much time in the parks but I know they do have a variety of activities to choose from. The pools and lazy rivers were all the activity we needed while we were there!
